Ovulation is how many days after period. You can get pregnant immediately after your period. In cases when the menstrual cycle lasts about 21 days and the menstrual period bleeding lasts for about 7 days there is a great possibility of having the ovulation right after period. The luteal phase which occurs from ovulation to the next period is typically 14 days long. Ovulation and conception ovulation is the release of an egg from one of the ovaries.
So the women with short cycle generally ovulate within 5 6 days after period. Hence there are probabilities of conceiving just after 5 6 days of your period. Ovulation can be calculated by starting with the first day of the last menstrual period lmp or by calculating 12 16 days from the next expected period. However some women have a shorter or a longer menstrual cycle.
Most women ovulate anywhere between day 11 day 21 of their cycle counting from the first day of the lmp. On average a woman will ovulate about 14 days after her period begins. This is because sperm can survive up to five days in the female reproductive tract. With this definition of a period you cannot ovulate while on your period.
That can happen if you have sex. Implantation of an egg which happens after fertilization usually takes place 6 to12 days after ovulation. Ovulation occurs before 2 weeks of the period. This means that ovulation will occur 16 days after your period starts.
If your cycle or luteal phase is different than the average you re better off counting backward 14 days from the next projected period. Ovulation lasts for 12 to 48 hours but you are potentially fertile for up to seven days and maybe up to 10 days according to the most optimistic studies. Now if you have intercourse during your period the sperm can stay alive in your vaginal canal for 5 6 days. However some women experience mid cycle or ovulatory bleeding bleeding that occurs around ovulation and may mistake it for a period.
The six days leading up to and including ovulation make up what s called the fertile window again this is the period of time when sexual intercourse may lead to pregnancy. Ovulation occurs 10 14 days before your next period so you will get an approximate ovulation date by subtracting 14 from the number of days in your cycle eg. In general ovulation occurs 12 to 16 days before. If you have a 30 day cycle then ovulation will occur approximately on day 16 of your cycle.
